The Artist
My name is Rebecca Gelernter, and I'm a science and medical illustrator and graphic designer based in New Haven, CT. I've earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Boston University and a certificate in Science Illustration from California State University, Monterey Bay. I mostly do freelance work, but I also worked as a medical illustrator with MedStudy full-time for several years. I am also a dedicated bird person, a dinosaur enthusiast, and a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
Services
I can be hired for anything from anatomical illustration to logos to pet portraits. Send me an email here to ask about availability.
Shops
Prints are available from my INPRNT store.
T-shirts, mugs, and other merch is available from my Threadless store.
The Logo
My logo and the site name refer to a small theropod dinosaur called Anchiornis huxleyi, or Huxley's near bird. In 2010, a team studying preserved pigment structures in its fossilized feathers determined what its plumage would have looked like. In 2017, I got to restore it myself for another paper by one of the authors of that study - you can see it here.
