
The Logo
My logo and the site name refer to a small theropod dinosaur called Anchiornis huxleyi, or Huxley's near bird. In 2010, a team studying preserved pigment structures in its fossilized feathers determined what its plumage would have looked like.

The Artist
My name is Rebecca Gelernter, and I'm a scientific illustrator and graphic designer based in New Haven, CT. I've earned an undergraduate degree in biology from Boston University and a certificate in Science Illustration from California State University, Monterey Bay. I have a long background in art as well as experience working in natural history museum collections. I am also a dedicated bird person, a dinosaur enthusiast, and a member of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators.
